The USSR R-800 was a VHF AM air transceiver.
The station was also known as RSIU-3M, as a ground station it was known as RSK-1U. The USSR Navy nomenclature was R-609 or Kiparis. (Information and pictures kindly provided by Igor UA6HGY)
The set comprises a separate receiver and transmitter unit, remote controlled from the operator or pilot's position.
Its construction resemble the BC-624 and BC-625 units of the USA transceiver SCR-522 or RAF TR5043. It is believed to be a USSR copy of this World War II set. The USA parent set, however, had both transmitter and receiver units fitted in a single cabinet.
